and Tutors depart for the 10th International Conference on Copepoda,
Pattaya.
The course commences on Monday 7th July 2008 and finishes on Friday 11th July 2008 at Srisumon Meeting Room, 4th Floor of Sc 03 Building (Biology Building), Faculty of Science, Khon Kaen University (KKU), Khon Kaen Province, Thailand. You should plan to arrive in Khon Kaen either on Sunday 6th July or Saturday 5th July. We will all depart to Pattaya on Saturday 12th July.
ACCOMMODATION Accommodation has been arranged at the Kwanmore Hotel in the KKU Campus for participants attending the pre-conference workshop. It is located near the university northeastern gate, not far from the workshop room (5 minutes by foot). Each room is provided with individual air-conditioning, television, telephone, refrigerator and a private shower/bathroom.

If you already know
someone who is attending then please arrange to share and indicate this on your
form. If you do not know anyone, we will arrange a suitable person for
you. FOOD Room prices include
breakfast. For your convenience,
lunches, morning and afternoon tea/coffee will be arranged at the workshop
building. Evening dinner free
choice of restaurants inside the KKU campus for ca. 100-200 Baht/meal. TRAVEL Travel to Khon Kaen: - By Air, after
arriving Bangkok at Suvarnabhumi International
Airport, you have to take a taxi-meter (~500 Baht) or airport bus to
Donmuang Domestic Airport. Thai Airways (www.thaiair.com) operates 3 flights daily from
Donmuang Airport to Khon Kaen Airport. The one-way ticket costs 2,850 Baht and
it takes 45 minutes to Khon Kaen. - By Air-conditioned Bus, after arriving Bangkok at Suvarnabhumi International Airport, you have to
take a taxi-meter (~400 Baht) or airport bus to Northeastern Bus Terminal
(Kamphangphet Road). Several bus travel agencies (e.g., Nakhonchai Air,
www.nca.co.th/web/main.php) can be selected. The one-way ticket costs 400 Baht
and it takes 7 hours to Khon Kaen. Nakhonchai Air also has online ticketing
service. Travel from Khon Kaen:
On Saturday 12th
July we will arrange a bus to take all participants and tutors from KKU to
Pattaya, the conference venue. COST Lunches, morning and
afternoon tea/coffee for the whole period of the workshop and a bus ride from
KKU to Pattaya will be charged at a cost of 1,500 Baht/person. PAYMENT To avoid expensive bank
fees, participants are requested to pay on arrival directly to the organizers
of the 10th ICOC [NB this facility applies only for the
pre-conference workshop]. APPLICATION DEADLINE The deadline for submission of Application form is March 30, 2008. Notification of acceptance to attend the pre-conference workshop will be given through e-mail by April 7, 2008. |
